Lautaro Martinez insists he has ‘nothing to envy’ to top strikers like Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski: ‘The numbers and trophies say so.’

The Nerazzurri captain released an extended interview with Gazzetta, speaking about his plans for the future and Inter‘s title-winning campaign.

The last question was about Mbappé, Haaland and Lewandowski and whether the Argentinean feels at the same level as them.

Lautaro Martinez: Inter star has ‘nothing to envy’ to Mbappé, Haaland and Lewandowski

“Yes, I have nothing to envy, the numbers and the trophies say so,” he replied.

“There are champions who have won fewer trophies than me. I must continue to work hard with responsibility, as my father taught me, but I can sit at the same table as these great strikers.”

Lautaro Martinez is Inter’s leading scorer this season as well as Serie A’s Capocannoniere.

The 26-year-old has netted 27 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions, 24 in 33 Serie A matches.

His contract at the Stadio Meazza runs out in June 2026 but Inter hope to soon reach an agreement to extend his stay at the club.

During the same interview, Lautaro said he’s close to shaking hands with the Nerazzurri even if Suning’s issues may slow negotiations down.

Lautaro joined Inter from Racing Club in 2018 and has netted 129 goals in 282 games with the Serie A giants.
