21-year-old goalscoring machine shaping Chelsea's destiny

On rare occasions, young stars have burst onto the English Premier League scene with an immediate impact, altering the course of a team's season.

Cole Palmer recently emerged as a beacon of hope for the Chelsea Blues, orchestrating a goalscoring spree that defies expectations.

In two games from his attacker midfield position, the 21-year-old scored seven goals — a hat trick against Manchester United on April 4 and four goals against Everton on Monday.

Palmer has an innate ability to score in a multitude of ways — finishing clinically from the penalty spot as the team's penalty taker, dribbling past defenders as if they are not there and displaying finesse in finishing ability with both feet.

In the 29th minute against Everton, he scored a brilliant 35-yard chip with this weaker right foot after a poor clearance by the opponent.

Palmer’s rise to prominence is even more impressive given Chelsea’s goalscoring this season. With 20 of the 61 goals scored by Chelsea this season in the Premier League, Palmer has accounted for just under a third of the team's output.

Palmer's 20th goal tied for him for first in the Premier League Golden Boot race with Manchester City’s formable striker, Erling Haaland.

Haaland's impact on Manchester City has been well-documented and seemingly unparalleled. However, he has scored 20 of the team's 76 goals this season, a testament to the talent of young Englishmen's scoring prowess and his potential to rival some of the best players in the world.

Chelsea is ninth in the Premier League standings, trailing sixth-place Newcastle United by three points.

With 31 games played of 38 in a season, Chelsea finds itself in a pivotal position to make a final push toward qualifying for the Conference League or Europa League with Palmer's form potentially serving as a catalyst for a late surge up the table.

For Chelsea, Palmer's emergence couldn't have come at a more opportune moment.

Long plagued by the absence of a consistent goalscorer, the Blues boast a talisman capable of shouldering the burden of expectations.

Palmer's blend of youthful exuberance and clinical finishing have injected renewed optimism into Stamford Bridge, sparking dreams of glory among the club's faithful.
