In the NASCAR All-Star Open Race, Ty Gibbs picks up the win. Bubba Wallace finished P2 to advance to the All-Star Race as well. Noah Gragson for the second straight year wins the fan vote to make the main event.

Ty Gibbs ran up front on the prime tires as well as the option tires. By the way, those soft tires are doing some amazing stuff in these races and practice sessions. The red option tires produced great racing.

Gibbs, Wallace, and Gragson are going racing for $1,000,000! It all goes down tonight at 8:30 PM. Gotta wait for Kyle Larson, though.

Ty Gibbs was dominant, but the racing was still great. Behind him fighting for second was a hornet nest that included Wallace, Josh Berry, Justin Haley, and others. Those drivers fighting and battling for position allowed Gibbs to drive away.

I had a feeling that Gragson would get that fan vote. He has a ton of support that goes overlooked at times. Let’s not forget he was the Most Popular Driver in the Xfinity Series a couple of times.

The option tire is a revelation. That will likely be the big story after this weekend. The early success of that red-lettered tire is what will make or break this weekend. Not to mention, drivers love the new repave, there are multiple grooves – it’s a recipe for a great race.

Ty Gibbs, Bubba Wallace, and Noah Gragson will try to come from the rear and win $1,000,000 the hard way. Four times, a driver from the Open race has won the whole thing.

Ty Gibbs is looking to win some money

There is a lot going on this weekend and next. Kyle Larson and his Double Duty attempt are taking center stage. Everyone was watching him online using flight trackers. He made his way from Indy to North Wilkesboro with the help of a couple of helicopter rides and a flight in a private jet.

Meanwhile, the Open race was going on and we were learning about this new tire and this new repave. Of course, the Truck Series also showed how fun this track can be with the new asphalt on it.

Then again, the Truck Series has put on great races at short tracks for the Cup Series to come in and stink it up. So, that isn’t exactly the best way to tell how tonight’s race will go. I think the fact we saw multiple grooves on the track is a big deal.

Ty Gibbs has a car capable of winning. He just has to make his way through the field first and foremost. If he finds Kyle Larson and follows him, he should be just fine.
